Larry: What were you so sad about?
Alice: Life.
Larry: What’s that then?
Alice: You want to talk about art?
Larry: I know it’s vulgar to discuss the work at the opening of the work, but somebody’s gotta do it. I’m serious. What do you think?
Alice: It’s a lie. It’s a bunch of sad strangers photographed beautifully, and all the glittering assholes who appreciate art say it’s beautiful ‘cause that’s what they want to see. But the people in the photos are sad, and alone, but the pictures make the world seem beautiful. So the exhibition’s reassuring, which makes it a lie, and everyone loves a big fat lie.
This movie has some of the best, most cutting dialogue I’ve ever heard. I loved this scene.

Nightwalk: Valley of Rocks
by Tim Knowles
Nightwalks are a series of illuminated walks that Tim Knowles created in the countryside during a new moon. Over the period of an hour, the artist walked away from the camera while carrying three wide-beam torches. His path, along a precarious rocky ridge in the darkness, was illuminated and captured using a long-exposure, large-format photograph. The image invokes Plato’s allegory of the cave, appearing like a pathway of ghostly travellers shining inside an electrified landscape.

A book hasn’t caused me this much trouble since Where’s Waldo went to the barber pole factory.

Toshiba sent a chair into space using a helium balloon. I’m completely speechless..
Now if only Toshiba could make a television as awesome as this ad…

The Reaction Engines A2 is a design concept for a next generation airliner. In addition to being environmentally friendly, it would fly at Mach 5+ which would allow you to fly from Brussels, Belgium to Sydney, Australia in just over 4 1/2 hours or from Paris, France to New York City, U.S.A. in about 96 minutes. This is really cool, but something [human] inside of me feels very uneasy about traveling nearly 4,000 mph (6,400 km/h) through the air :-S

I love these tree drawings so much. By creating art, they become so much more alive!
