Eau Claire Memorial Jazz I Releases Live Concert CD Featuring Justin Vernon of BON IVER

“Just in time for the holiday season, Eau Claire Memorial Jazz I is proud to announce the CD release of their A Decade With Duke concert featuring Justin Vernon of BON IVER.

CDs are available for purchase in Eau Claire, Wisconsin only at Brick House Music, Morgan Music, and the offices of Volume One.

A digital version which includes only the second set, featuring Vernon, is also available digitally worldwide at most online music retailers such as iTunes, Amazon, eMusic, etc.

All proceeds from the local CD sales and digital sales will be donated directly to Eau Claire Memorial High School’s band and jazz band programs.

Aside from being my new favorite musician, I don’t see anyone else being so prolific and experimental with their music. The breadth that he’s exhibited in the last two years (Blood Bank, Volcano Choir, all of his live work, and this…) is incredible and I can’t wait to see what his next LP sounds like.

…In other news, I hate those Eau Claire Memorial fuckers. They had one of the best tennis programs in Wisconsin (always kicked our ass) and now THIS!?!

I learned about this story tonight after it was covered on a news radio station on the drive home. I am so upset about the existence of this bill, let alone the gut wrenching thought of it actually being passed into law. I already feel ashamed that so many Americans have made the terrible mistake of repeating our deplorable acts of discrimination towards minorities today with our actions towards homosexuals, it is even more heinous to see it taken to this level in Uganda. Please educate yourself by reading this article and making a stand for our LGBT brothers and sisters all over the world who have every right to be treated as EQUAL HUMAN BEINGS.

I went to San Francisco to see Abby, and I loved it there; I doubt I need to belabor why; the city is remarkable, particularly in its variety; it seemed to me to be as though New Orleans and New York were smashed together and then placed just so in a beautiful expanse of nature. I loved the architecture, the food, the coffee, the variety of scenes and sorts, and the radical uniqueness of it all: it was like no American city I’ve visited.

I’m so excited to go home in 9 days and wander around San Francisco, relax on the MUNI, eat food at all my favorite spots, ice skate at the embarcadero, and soak up everything I’ve missed for almost 5 months. I love reading people’s descriptions of San Francisco after visits, they are always positive and it makes me happy to think about when I’ll finally return (ehhem, ryan!) for good.

This is a wonderful description of the city I love so much.
